A vehicle struck and killed someone outside of a gas station in Kamloops.

Kamloops RCMP were called about a fatal collision at the Canco gas station on Tranquille Road around 4 a.m. today, Nov. 27, according to a press release from police.

The vehicle ran into someone who was sitting against a wall, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A visible police presence is in the area as officers investigate the collision, with the assistance of a Provincial Traffic Reconstructionist,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. “The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.”

The BC Coroners Service is investigating alongside police.

Details about the victim’s identity have not been released.
