One person was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 97 in Oliver last week.

The driver of a white 1992 Ford Explorer travelling north on Highway 97 crossed the centre line north of Road 21 in Oliver on Wednesday, July 31, hitting a southbound vehicle head-on, according to a BC Highway Patrol media release issued today, Aug 6.

At the time, RCMP referred to the collision as serious.

Highway patrol said the driver of the southbound vehicle did not survive. It doesn't identify the person killed nor say what kind of vehicle they were driving.

Investigators are asking witnesses or people that stopped to help to give them a call.

They're looking for any dash cam or surveillance video of the Explorer prior to the crash. They’d also like to speak to anyone who saw the Explorer before the collision and can speak to how it was being driven.

Witnesses, or those with video, are asked to call the highway patrol in Keremeos at 250-499-2250 and refer to file 2024-2847.
