Police searching for women connected to stolen vehicle in West Kelowna
RCMP officers are looking to find two women in connection to a stolen vehicle in West Kelowna.
This morning, Oct. 28 at roughly 8 a.m. West Kelowna police officers received a report of a stolen vehicle in the 2000 block of Boucherie Road.
A white Nissan Altima was started by the owner to warm the car up before driving their kids to school when a woman reportedly jumped into the car when it was unattended and drove off, according to a police in a news release.
Approximately 30 minutes later, the vehicle along with a second associated vehicle were seen driving over the William R. Bennett bridge towards Kelowna.
After receiving the report, the Kelowna RCMP launched a helicopter for aerial support.
Following a call, a police officer discovered the abandoned Altima on Maple Avenue. The caller reported the car was left on their front lawn and the woman then ran away through several properties.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian female, approximately 30 years old, with blond hair. She was wearing a black parka type jacket.
The Kelowna RCMP Police Dog Service team was called into the area to help search for the two women as the investigation continues.
