Penticton RCMP managed to rescue a stranded vehicle trapped in a creek on the Kettle Valley Rail trail over the weekend.

According to a Penticton RCMP media release, officers with an ATV towed the stranded vehicle out of the creek.

The incident happened, Saturday, May 28, on the trails behind Penticton’s Three Blind Mice trail network.

"Our region covers a lot of ground with different terrain," Penticton RCMP spokesperson Const. Dayne Lyons said in the release. "We come equipped with all kinds of special tools to respond to any call, in any area."

RCMP said officers will be patrolling the Kettle Valley Rail trail on ATVs or quads over the summer.

"Much like we patrol the waters, we keep the trails safe too," the release said.
