A person is in critical condition, and another has serious injuries after a car crash in Lake Country this morning.

Lake Country RCMP responded to a report about a car in a ditch near Pelmewash Parkway and Cornwall Road around 8:15 a.m., according to a press release from police.

A silver SUV went off the road while heading south on Pelmewash Parkway and ended up in a ditch.

There were two people in the car during the crash, one has serious but non-life-threatening injuries and the other person is in critical condition.

RCMP did not release details about the victims' identities.

The road around the scene is reduced to single lane alternating traffic so police can investigate, and will reopen completely after officers have finished their analysis.

Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call Lake Country RCMP at 250-762-2288 and reference police file number 2024-44402.
