Motorcyclist killed in crash with impaired semi driver north of Quesnel
Police arrested a semi-truck driver after a fatal collision with a motorcycle north of Quesnel very early this morning.
A black Kenworth tractor-trailer collided with a black Harley Davidson on Highway 97 near Naver Creek Road at 12:34 a.m., July 24, according to a press release from police.
The 42-year-old Chemainus man on the motorcycle died and police arrested the 38-year-old Aldergrove man in the truck for impaired driving.
The BC Highway Patrol is asking for any witnesses to come forward.
“Police need your help locating more witnesses to this collision, and dash-camera video would be helpful,” Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said in the release. “The driving behaviour leading up to the collision is very important, and there may even be witnesses who saw concerning behaviour hours before the crash.”
Anyone who saw concerning behaviour from either vehicle before the crash, or the crash itself, has been asked to contact BC Highway Patrol at 250-992-9211 and quote file 3304 2025-5987.
