Memorial convoy marks 1 year since Shannon White's disappearance
Everyone is welcome to participate in a memorial ride for missing woman, Shannon White.
The ride marks a year since White mysteriously disappeared from Kamloops, leaving her friends and family in Kamloops and back home in Ontario gutted.
“This ride means we have been without her in our lives for a year,” said event host and close friend, Angela Hulsman. “It means a year of grief and loss and questions.”
The memorial ride begins at Capri Mall at 1171 Harvey Avenue in Kelowna at 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 and will travel along Highway 97 to Vernon, then through Falkland onto Kamloops where others can join a gathering at the Verse/Petro Can at 1885 Trans Canada at 6:30 p.m.
From there the convoy will travel through town honouring White and end up in Batchelor Heights at ‘the pits’, a staging area people use for dirt biking where White and many of her friends in the Jeep community spent time together.
White has been missing since she failed to show up for a shift at her job at Kamloops Hyundai on Nov. 1, 2021. Her jeep was discovered abandoned on Nicola Street downtown the following day.

Police and Kamloops Search and Rescue crews did several searches in different areas of Kamloops for two weeks in November, and the police investigation is ongoing.
Since White’s disappearance, several searches have been organized by her friends along with community members trained in search and rescue.
“We are doing this (memorial ride) to raise awareness and remind people that she is still missing and that we will never stop searching for her,” Hulsman said.
“We are grateful that so many people care and are supporting our efforts to find her.”
