A motorcyclist in the Kootenays is dead after failing to negotiate a turn.

The driver, 71, was found treated at the side of Highway 3A in Twin Bays, B.C. near Creston after sustaining serious injuries July 27, according to a release from RCMP.

Police said it appeared he left the highway and evidence around the area suggested the driver failed to navigate a coroner.

Investigations are still underway.

“Sadly, the man succumbed to the injuries he’d sustained and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson said.
