DriveB.C. is telling drivers to expect delays on Highway 1 near Cache Creek, where a jack-knifed semi is affecting southbound traffic.

Smaller issues on Interior highways this morning, Feb. 2, including falling rocks on Highway 1 about 14 kilometres east of Lytton and compact snow between Spences Bridge and Sicamous; Highway 3 is slushy from Princeton to Hedley; Highway 6EW has slippery sections from Vernon to Coldstream; Highway 5 has slushy sections between the Great Bear Snowshed and Coquihalla Summit as well as between Coquihalla Lakes Road and West Kamloops; Highway 97 has compact snow between Summerland and Kelowna; Highway 97C has compact snow from Merritt to West Kelowna, and Westside Road has compact snow.

Charles Andres commutes from Armstrong to Sicamous on Highway 97A. "Armstrong to Enderby was mostly bare with that strip of snow and ice down the middle of the lane and the middle of the road," he reported this morning. "Form Enderby to Sicamous it was mostly compact snow and ice... Plenty of opportunity to go slipping and sliding if you like."

In weather, Kamloops is in for a high of 2 Celsius and low of -1 C, according to Environment Canada. Vernon and Kelowna are both in for a high of 0 and low of -3 C. And Penticton will see a high of 1 C and low of -2 C.

At the ski hills, Big White Mountain Resort is reporting 12 cm of new snow and 27 centimetres over the past week. At Sun Peaks Ski Resort there’s 3 cm of new snow and 23 cm since last week; SilverStar Mountain Resort has an alpine snow base of 196 cm; and Apex Mountain Resort is reporting 29 cm over the past week.
