Heavy snow on the way with warnings issued for Coquihalla, North Okanagan and Shuswap
A snowfall warning has been issued this afternoon for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle’s Pass to Roger’s pass.
The wallop of heavy snow is also expected in the North Okanagan including Vernon, the Shuswap including Salmon Arm, the North Thompson including Clearwater, and Cariboo north and south especially to the east of Quesnel and Williams Lake, according to the snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada today, Nov. 21.
"An intense frontal system will move across the B.C. Interior. Light snow will intensify tonight and persist through Tuesday, tapering to light flurries Tuesday night," the weather office said.
Snowfall accumulations of 15 centimetres to 20 cm are expected with low visibility for the Coquihalla Summit, Rogers Pass, North and West Columbia including the cities of Blue River and Revelstoke, especially to the west of Revelstoke.
