Heavy snow fell last night through this morning, Dec. 2, and is expected to taper off around noon.

Environment Canada issued snowfall alerts for Coquihalla and Hope to Princeton highways.

Snow accumulation up to 15-20 cm is expected on those highways and then snow should change to light flurries around noon.

“A frontal system crossing southern BC is bringing heavy snow to parts of the region. Heavy snow is expected to taper off to a few flurries later this morning,” Environment Canada’s alert said.

The Okanagan Connector is expected to get 2 cm this morning, and another 2 cm overnight.

The Trans-Canada Highway near Eagle Pass is expected to get scattered flurries with an accumulation of 5 cm by tomorrow.

Big White Resort is anticipating 6-12 cm of snow throughout the day.

Sun Peaks Resort is not expecting more snow today.

“Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” Environment Canada’s alert said.
