HEADS UP: Snow at higher elevations on Okanagan Connector
If you’re heading out on the Okanagan Connector this afternoon be aware it's snowing.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement today, Aug. 27, for higher terrain on Highway 97C near the Pennask Summit.
A trough of low pressure over the Souther Interior has been bringing rain and cooler temperatures to the valley bottoms.
The same weather systems in bring flurries on the upper elevation highway as the snow level drops to around 1,600 metres this afternoon and into the early evening.
"Be prepared for quickly changing and winter-like driving conditions.” the statement reads. “Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
