There was a police chase in Victoria involving a scooter.

The suspect was under house arrest, and under a court order to stay away from the 900-block of Pandora Avenue, according to a news release from the Victoria Police Department.

But on Feb. 20, officers found him at the 900-block of Pandora Avenue, and they were aware of his court-ordered conditions.

“The officers spoke with the man, and informed him that he was under arrest for violating his conditions when he suddenly mounted a stand-up electric scooter and attempted to flee,” the release says.

Officers called for backup. Cop cars were parked around the area to try and contain the suspect. On Fort Street he crashed into one of the parked cop cars. Then he tried to escape on foot but officers were able to restrain him.

No injuries were reported by police.

Upon searching the man – who was also prohibited by the courts from possessing weapons – officers found a knife, bear spray and collapsible baton.

The man was held in custody until his next court appearance to face charges for breaching three of his conditions – house arrest, attending the 900-block of Pandora Avenue, and possessing weapons.
