The median rental rate for one-bedroom apartments in Kelowna increased by 3.7% in October versus September, climbing by $60 to $1,670.

That leaves the city ranked as the fourth most expensive in Canada for the second month in a row. It's behind Vancouver ($2,100), Toronto ($1,800) and Victoria ($1,680), according to the monthly rent report from online rental site Zumper.

It was better news for those looking to rent a two-bedroom unit where rents fell by five per cent to $2,070 from $2,180.

For both sized units, the rents are just over 15% higher this year than in 2020.

Abbotsford is the only other B.C. city on Zumper’s list of 23 cities. It ranked ninth with a one-bedroom unit renting for $1,470 per month.
