Together, their debut EP, was released on March 24th, 2018. With distilled melodic hooks and open-book lyricism, they depict a poignant narration to today’s definition of romantic love, self-love and trust (The Permanent Rain Press). Since their inception in 2016, The Sophistocrats have built a dedicated local following that has enabled them to play the Sunshine Festival (Vernon, BC), MarketFest (Nelson, BC), the Sam Steele Days (Cranbrook, BC) and the Fisher Peak Winter Ale Series (Cranbrook, BC). They’ve opened for touring indie bands like Dirty Mountain, Friends Of Foes, Living Hour, the Gabriel Palatchi Trio, FKB, Giant Water Bug, Steph MacPherson, Charlie Jacobson and The Racket. Their music has gotten radio play in Canada and the United States, and their song Nothing Left was a semi-finalist in the Music City Songstar Challenge. The Sophistocrats create music inspired by shared experiences. “There is so much incredible music out there, but when I get to know the artist personally, it makes their music resonate with me on a deeper level” (Sophie, Canadian Beat Interview). - - - - - - HAVYN’s objective is simple: to create honest music that acts as a bridge between Consciousness and Contemporary music. Conscious R&B or Urban R&B are some of the labels that might be used to define the genre of the Canadian songstress’ music. HAVYN dropped her debut EP album in November 2017 and has continued to release some musical gems since. She recently won the title of “Urban Artist of the Year” at the 2018 Western Canadian Music Awards. Her most recent single, “Roots” is about feeling whole, loving and trusting unconditionally, and desiring to change the world and manifest your dreams. It is now available on all streaming platforms. Her next album “Things Feel Lighter – Part 1” is scheduled to release in November 2019. “I want my music to expand peoples’ awareness and ideas of consciousness, freeing themselves from the human ego as well as living a life that truly fulfills them, because that is the type of life I am aspiring to live.” Links: Website: https://www.iamhavyn.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iamhavyn Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/iamhavyn Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/iamhavyn Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3rC0N7uWGbftkcEiB8fM7q?si=t0bAF6MYTRy47KmxjL-lHg
