Event Description
Back by popular demand is our Mandala Workshop with the beautiful and gifted Yvette Lehmann! Learn how to create these visually stunning works of art, that are also an expression of the soul. Mandalas, the Sanskrit word for "magic circles," are centering spaces for the self and the soul; an art therapy tool for making order out of disorder. Nearly every culture uses mandalas or circular images in their cultural or spiritual practices; and they appear everywhere in nature. Anyone can make a mandala; you do not need any special artistic ability or skill. Art making is an essential practice that can support our positivity and sense of wellbeing; expand our awareness; open ourselves to kindness and self-compassion; and deepen our connection to ourselves and others; and this does not change based on your level of artistic giftedness. We will show you that if you meditate or draw a mandala mindfully you can experience a relaxed and connected sense of being and feel that everything in life is connected in some way. During this workshop we will learn: • what a Mandala is • how we use it for meditation • the basic techniques to draw a mandala • how to inspire our creativity through setting an intention • how to get to know our true selves through watching and observing the “artist” (meditation in action) • recognize how we react in certain situations (meditation in action) Pre-registration is required by emailing Yvette (email below). Your investment is $35, and this includes all the supplies you will need for the workshop, however if you have a special pencil, pen, gel pen or colour pen etc., we invite you to bring it. Payment can be e-transfered to yogawithyvette.ca@gmail.com prior to the workshop or you may pay by credit card or cash on the day of. Questions? Email Yvette: yogawithyvette.ca@gmail.com.
