Event Description

An Art Exhibition in the KAC Hallway Gallery at the Old Courthouse. Wed. May 8, to Sat. June 1, 2019 OPENING RECEPTION: Friday May 10, 7 to 9 pm. About Lynne: In past years, scenes from the Caribou, Haida Gwaii and widespread places of travel have been Lynne's main source of inspiration. The recent fires in BC have had a tremendous impact on how Lynne sees Nature and thus impacts her painting. She has recently been hiking with Obi Wan into the Caribou countryside photographing scenes of life returning after the horrendous fires. Forced to flee her family home in summer of 2017, Lynne witnessed the insatiable fire spreading quickly and leaping the far lake shore towards them! It was a paralyzing scene and huge shock! "How could this happen?!" "This tremendous experience really affects the way one sees life and all of nature. Both are forever changing and once again... so fleeting." Certainly the opportunity and privilege to paint this beauty and Force of Nature should not be wasted. Lynne currently paints both pleine air and from her photos, scenes of life returning to the Caribou after those same fires.
