Event Description

Fireweed Eco-Fest is an eco-arts festival welcoming writers, comedians, visual artists, musicians, and performers from the Okanagan Valley and across Canada for three days of high-calibre performance alongside socially conscious artistic creation in local, public parks. Join us at the Black Box Theatre for some Summerhill Wine or Kelowna Brewing Company beer to celebrate the opening of Fireweed Eco-Fest. Enjoy a musical performance from Kinfolk, some comedy from Kevin McPherson-Eckhoff, and some poetry from IWC's own Erin Scott! Tickets at $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite here: Doors open at 6:30pm so you have time to mingle and have a drink before the show starts at 7pm! Parking is available on the surrounding streets and the venue is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender neutral, single user washrooms available as well. Fireweed Eco-Fest is made possible by the generous support of the City of Kelowna, the Province of British Columbia, the Regional District of the Central Okanagan, UBC Okanagan's Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, Modo CarShare, Kelowna Brewing Company, and Summerhill Pyramid Winery. Inspired Word Café acknowledges that this festival is being held on the unceded ancestral lands of the Syilx Okanagan People. For more information, please visit
