?e-seminar series?Zen and Japanese Tea Ceremony #2 Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region USA launched a series of online seminars related to Japanese tea ceremony in September. Chief Priest Shuken Furukawa will join the second session themed “zen” and Japanese tea ceremony. Transcending the boundaries of religions, zen captures the hearts and touches the core of so many people, including world leaders. Inside and outside of the temple, he has been passionately communicating deep wisdom of zen as well as committed to face and talk about social issues from the perspective of a zen priest. His seminars and meditation sessions are very popular, as evidenced by many participants from afar. This will be a valuable and timely opportunity to hear his stories on how we can take more advantage of zen teaching to reflect ourselves and our everyday life in amid a rapidly changing world. ? Shuken Furukawa is Chief Priest of Erinji, a Buddhist temple in Yamanashi prefecture belonging to the Myoshin-ji branch of the Rinzai school of Japanese Zen. He holds a PhD from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Science, the University of Tokyo. He has been featured in numerous interviews and lectures related to zen (ex. NHK, Keio Marunouchi City Campus).
