SILVER SERENADE: THE MUSIC OF HORACE SILVER A saxophonist with an expressive sound rooted in Jazz tradition, a label owner tirelessly documenting unsung Jazz heroes, one of Canada’s most important Jazz impresarios, the hardest-working man in Jazz business – Cory Weeds is all of these things, and much more. coryweeds.com This evening is a tribute to Horace Silver an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger, particularly in the hard bop style that he helped pioneer in the 1950s. It's going to be a magical evening with fierce musicians featuring Cory Weeds on tenor saxophone, Brad Turner on trumpet, Chris Gestrin on piano, John Lee on bass and Julian MacDonough on drums. Doors open at 7:15 pm, show starts at 8 pm. Cash only bar. No minors.
