    Susan Lundy, a resident of Salt Spring Island and Calgary, focuses on British Columbia in her book about heritage apples. With enthusiasm and good humour, she collected “apple facts,” recipes, photographs of 40 different varieties and met people like Clay Whitney in Sooke on Vancouver Island, an expert in apple identification. At Hoodoo Ranch in Spences Bridge, Lundy met Bev Sidnick and Bob Howard, who own one of very few orchards growing heritage apples in B.C.’s interior.
