More About Our Team

Professional Standards

We are members of the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors (ABCLS). ABCLS protects the public by continually developing and enforcing a code of ethics for our profession. The code ensures that members exercise integrity, strict confidentiality to protect clients, and undertake land surveys only if they have the ability, resources and staff to complete the assignment in a timely and professional manner. As professional land surveyors, we remain up to date with the current technologies that affect our practice. When accepting an assignment, we consider the protection of the natural environment and public safety issues.

FAQ

When is a survey needed?

Residential surveys are advised prior to buying or building on land, to prepare a site plan for building permits and mark property boundaries. Cadastral legal surveys re-establish legal boundaries for both private and crown land. For more information on different types of surveys and why they are needed, read our services page or contact us.

Can I move a property marker?

Legal survey monuments or markers define boundaries and are important to preserve. Only a BC land surveyor has the authority to set or replace a survey monument.

Do I need a survey map?

A survey map provides you with a permanent record and may help you with future boundary disputes or with planning improvements on your property.

Is a land survey a legal document?

A land survey plan is an important legal document that is prepared for a specific purpose.

Are land sureys a public record?

Land Surveys which are registered in the Land Title and Survey Authority Offices are available to the public for search and retrieval. Survey plans which are submitted to a governing authority such as Municipality may become part of a public record. Not all surveys become a public record and remain a private record of the Land Surveyor and client.
