LAKE COUNTRY – If it’s not broken don’t fix it. The Lake Country RCMP’s Cram the Cruiser fundraising event is a big success for the 2nd year in a row.

The 2nd annual event at Cooper’s Foods on Saturday raised about $2,000, with 1,928 lbs of non-perishable food collected for the Lake Country Food Bank. The police cruiser was overflowing. It had to be emptied several times during the day.

The regular and auxiliary members of the RCMP took part, along with RCMP volunteers.

The Lake Country Food Bank provides help to over 300 people. That number includes 140 families.

Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey says they are extremely pleased with the totals this year. He is thankful to everyone who braved the cold weather to come out and make a donation.
