Zombies, costumed candy seekers take over downtown

The world's most content zombie. He was one of a dozen corpses at the inaugural Zombie Walk and Costume Parade.

PENTICTON - The inaugural Zombie Walk and Costume Parade on Main Street looked like a spilled bag of mixed action figures.

On Thursday afternoon princesses strolled alongside Master Chiefs, bumblebees flitted around dolphins and zombies refrained from devouring everyone whole. It's a good thing the guy dressed like Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead left his Colt Python six-shooter at home.

The Downtown Penticton Association organized the parade which started from Nanaimo Avenue, down one block of Main Street and ended on Front Street. Coffee shops were filled with folks who came out to see kids dressed up as well as the adults who took advantage of Halloween to be something they were not.
