Woman struck by train near Chase identified

The B.C. Coroners Service has released the identify the woman who died after she was struck by a train near Chase.

She was Patricia Ann Goodman, 67, from Chase.

Train personnel say they saw the Goodman on the CP Rail main line tracks about 1.5 km east of Chase shortly after midnight June 8, 2013. The crew of an approaching westbound train was unable to stop the train in time and Goodman was hit. She died at the scene.

The coroners service and RCMP continue to investigate this death. Foul play has been ruled out.

The family of Goodman has been notified of her death.
