Woman stabbed during fight in downtown Kelowna

KELOWNA – A Kelowna woman living on the streets was stabbed during a fight in downtown Kelowna Sunday night.

The 38-year-old victim came into the Gospel Mission just before midnight saying she had been stabbed in the stomach, according to a release from Kelowna RCMP. Witnesses told investigators two women were involved in a fight shortly before and that the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.

Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says the victim is not cooperating with police but was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Police are seeking witnesses and will continue to investigate. Investigators will conduct an examination of video surveillance cameras in the area.
