Woman charged in deadly Paul Lake crash in court to test evidence

KAMLOOPS - The woman charged in connection with a deadly crash near Paul Lake nearly two years ago appeared in a Kamloops Provincial Court room for a preliminary inquiry today, June 8.

According to court documents, Yvonne Wilson is facing three charges in the death of Barry Charlie, 27, including impaired driving causing death, causing an accident resulting in death and dangerous driving causing death.

The crash happened June 25, 2014. Charlie, from Lytton, was killed and four others were injured after a vehicle lost control on Pinantan Pritchard Road near Paul Lake.

Charlie was a passenger in the suspect vehicle, and wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

A preliminary hearing will determine if the Crown has enough evidence to proceed to trial.
