WEST KELOWNA - During Fire Prevention Week, West Kelowna Fire Rescue in partnership with Westbank First Nation will go door to door in two mobile home parks ensuring residents have working smoke alarms. WKFR will also host its ever-popular Kids Day at the Firehall.

The theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week - October 4 to 10 is “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep” and on Tuesday, Oct. 6 beginning at 6:30 p.m., West Kelowna Fire Rescue and Westbank First Nation personnel will be delivering this message in two mobile home parks by checking for working smoke alarms.

Since battery-operated alarms require more frequent maintenance, and are easily disabled, fire personnel will be installing 10 year lithium alarms as required.

The Kids Day at the Fire Hall is back and promises to be fun for the entire family.

Join fire personnel to learn about firefighting and home safety and meet Sparky the Fire Dog and enjoy some refreshments.

KIDS DAY AT THE FIREHALL
Sunday, October 4, 2015
