Symposium Volunteers - Communities In Bloom is looking for volunteers to help out for their C.I.B. Symposium and Awards event from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3. John Howard Society
Story Book Program Volunteers - The John Howard Society is looking for volunteers to help out with their Story Book Program at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre (KRCC). This program is to promote family communication between the inmates and their families by having the inmates narrate a story book where the child will be able to listen and view the book at the same time. The volunteers record story books that are read by an inmate for a child member of their family. The volunteers will then send the CD with the story book to the intended recipient. We are looking for a one hour a week commitment. A Corrections Canada Clearance, as well as a Criminal Record Check are required. 19+ to Volunteer. 250-434-1700 Ext: 510

Telephone/Personal Shopping Volunteers - The volunteers will go grocery shopping with a senior or take grocery orders over the telephone and then shop for them at the North Kamloops Safeway in the Fortune Shopping Centre or at the Sahali Safeway in the Sahali Centre Mall (Thursday mornings). 17+ to volunteer. 250-828-0600

Volunteer Office Administrative Assistants - You can gain experience in your field in a supportive environment. A minimum requirement of 3-6 hours per week is required and preference will be given to applicants willing to put in a 6 month or longer time commitment. Lizzy’s Closet - Clothing Organizer/ Assistant - The Elizabeth Fry Society is looking for one or two female volunteers twice a week for approximately 1 to 3 hours to help sort clothing & donations, organize the closet, and assist women in need who attend the closet. 19+ to volunteer. YMCA/YWCA
YMCA Youth Basketball League Team Coaches - The volunteers will coach kids aged 7-12 in weekly practices, and help to supervise Sunday games at different locations throughout the city. This is a non-competitive league that is meant to foster growth through sport. The coaches should be patient, understanding, and be a positive role model for all the participants. 16+ to volunteer. 250-376-4771

Overlander Ski Club
Various Positions - Groomers: Must hold a valid BC's driver’s license and be flexible with hours to operate machinery according to weather conditions. Trail Maintenance: Must be in good physical condition. May need to know chain saw operation or be able to pull seedlings, trim shrubs and brush from trails. Loppet Volunteers: Aid Station Attendants, Parking Attendants and Refreshment Assistants. 16+ to volunteer. 250-578-7925
