Out of the Cold Program
Out of the Cold Volunteers - The Out of the Cold Program is looking for volunteers on Wednesdays & Sundays from Nov. 01, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016. This program provides warm meals and shelter for the homeless men & women of Kamloops. Duties: registration, distribution of clothing, helping to prepare hot meals, serving, bed making, and clean-up. 250-318-0236 or 250-573-3430

Special Events Coordinators - The volunteers will coordinate special events utilizing the Event Outline and under the direction of the TNC Executive Assistant. Wildlife Park
Family Farm Assistants - The Wildlife Park is in need of volunteers to assist our zookeepers in maintaining a safe environment at our Home Hardware Family Farm for their 18th Annual Wildlights Festival from Dec. 11, 2015 to Jan. 03, 2016. The volunteers will be interacting with park guests as they interact with our goats! Volunteers will also be keeping the barn area clean. Door-to-Door Campaign Leaders - The Canadian Cancer Society is currently seeking highly motivated, and enthusiastic Leaders to engage and coordinate canvassers during the Daffodil Month Residential Door-to-Door Campaign in April. The Leaders will assist in recruiting canvassers within their community, help maintain team enthusiasm throughout the campaign, and ensure canvassers have all the tools they need to conduct the campaign. Prior to the campaign, Leaders receive materials from the Regional Office and distribute kits to canvassers. Operation Red Nose
ORN Volunteers - Operation Red Nose is a designated driving service where volunteers drive clients and their vehicles home during the holidays. Volunteer positions include: drivers (21+ to volunteer), escort drivers, navigators (19+ to volunteer); office volunteers: dispatch, phone operators, greeters (16+ to volunteer). Digital Photo Organizing Volunteer - Developing World Connections is looking for volunteers to organize and describe digital photos from all over the world and match the label with the content. John Howard Society
Story Book Program Volunteers - The John Howard Society is looking for volunteers to help out with their Story Book Program at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre (KRCC). This program is to promote family communication between the inmates and their families by having the inmates narrate a story book where the child will be able to listen and view the book at the same time. The volunteers record story books that are read by an inmate for a child member of their family. The volunteers will then send the CD with the story book to the intended recipient. We are looking for a one hour a week commitment. A Corrections Canada Clearance, as well as a Criminal Record Check are required. 19+ to Volunteer. 250-434-1700 Ext: 510

Volunteer Office Administrative Assistants - You can gain experience in your field in a supportive environment. A minimum requirement of 3-6 hours per week is required and preference will be given to applicants willing to put in a 6 month or longer time commitment. Interior Community Services
Childminding Volunteer – Volunteers will help watch children while their parents are in learning sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The volunteers assist the staff in children’s area to watch the children, and be an extra set of eyes and ears.
