Out of the Cold Program
Out of the Cold Volunteers - The Out of the Cold Program is looking for volunteers on Wednesdays & Sundays from Nov. 01, 2015 to Mar. 31, 2016. This program provides warm meals and shelter for the homeless men & women of Kamloops. Duties: registration, distribution of clothing, helping to prepare hot meals, serving, bed making, and clean-up. 250-318-0236 or 250-573-3430

Operation Red Nose
ORN Volunteers - Operation Red Nose is a designated driving service where volunteers drive clients and their vehicles home during the holidays. Volunteer positions include: drivers (21+ to volunteer), escort drivers, navigators (19+ to volunteer); office volunteers: dispatch, phone operators, greeters (16+ to volunteer). Times: 9 p.m. - 3 a.m. Dates are: Fri., Nov. 27 – Sat., Nov. 28; Fri., Dec. 4 – Sat., Dec. 5; Fri., Dec. 11 – Sat., Dec. 12; Fri., Dec. 18 – Sat., Dec. 19; Sat., Dec. 26; Thurs., Dec. 31. 250-320-0650

Wildlife Park
Family Farm Assistants - The Wildlife Park is in need of volunteers to assist our zookeepers in maintaining a safe environment at our Home Hardware Family Farm for their 18th Annual Wildlights Festival from Dec. 11, 2015 to Jan. 03, 2016. The volunteers will be interacting with park guests as they interact with our goats! Volunteers will also be keeping the barn area clean. John Howard Society
Workshop Volunteers - The John Howard Society is seeking volunteers who have a particular skill, talent, or specialty that might be of interest to our clientele to facilitate workshops. Some examples: cooking, sewing, recreation (sports), traditional art (bead work, leather work), education, travel (slideshows), and health (diabetes training), etc. 19+ to volunteer. Ridgeview Lodge
Volunteer Bus Drivers - Ridgeview Lodge is in need of volunteer bus drivers to drive their 14 passenger, wheel chair accessible bus for outings for their recreational programs approximately 2 times a month. Canadian Mental Health Association - Kamloops
Donation Pick-up Volunteers - The volunteers will be transporting donations to the Clubhouse approximately twice a month. Duties: loading, unloading and transporting donations. The volunteer drivers must have a truck and valid BC driver’s license, and a flexible schedule is required. Mileage is paid at 0.52 cents/km. 19+ to volunteer. 250-374-0440 Ext: 107

Hamlets at Westsyde
Recreation Volunteer - The Hamlets provides assisted living and complex care services for seniors and young adults with acquired brain injuries. Volunteers are needed for one-to-one visits, special events, program support, walk and roll visits, helping staff with outings, and the buddy program. 16+ to volunteer. Volunteer Kamloops
Volunteer Office Administrative Assistants - You can gain experience in your field in a supportive environment. A minimum requirement of 3-6 hours per week is required and preference will be given to applicants willing to put in a 6 month or longer time commitment. We are looking for a friendly and approachable individual to volunteer at the front counter in our downtown office. Written and verbal English proficiency is required. 19+ to volunteer. 250-372-8313

Scouts Canada - Kamloops Area
Section and Non-Section Scouters - The Kamloops Area Scouts are looking for volunteers to support their scouting programs. Positions are: Section Scouters - Working with a team of other Scouters to help youth (ages 5 – 26) down their Canadian path towards a world of adventure, outdoor experience, friendship, and fun. After School Care - To assist the staff with running the After School Program for children 6-12 years olds by planning and implementing crafts, games and activities while maintaining a safe environment for the children. Big Brothers Big Sisters - Kamloops
Mentors - Now recruiting to link caring and capable adult volunteer mentors with 100 youth, 6-15 years old, on a waiting list. Enjoy the activities you're interested in and share them with a young person. Men in particular are needed for the many boys unmatched. 18+ to volunteer. 250-374-6134

Kamloops Emergency Support Services
ESS Team Volunteers – Volunteers will be required in the event of any disaster, i.e. fires, floods, avalanches, industrial accidents, police actions, and earthquakes. Volunteers will be asked to complete an orientation and other courses may follow. Minimum age to volunteer without parents or guardians consent is 19+. 250-319-1425
