THOMPSON-OKANAGAN - As much as 20 centimetres of snow could fall on parts of the region by Tuesday morning, Environment Canada warns today.

A special weather statement — not a warning, which is more serious — was issued at 3:59 p.m. saying a series of strong Pacific fronts are hitting the region bringing heavy snow and what comes next isn't clear.

The weather office says on Tuesday some snow could become mixed with rain as the airmass warms, but more snow is likely.
