Millions along the East Coast breathed a little easier Friday after forecasters said Hurricane Joaquin would probably veer out to sea instead of joining up with a drenching rainstorm that is bringing severe flooding to parts of the Atlantic Seaboard. HALIFAX - Canadian experts say hurricane Joaquin is now expected to track well south of Atlantic Canada.
The Canadian Hurricane Centre says most weather models show the storm's track as remaining well offshore with only a few showing it reaching the U.S. east coast.
The Halifax-based centre plans to reassess the situation on Saturday.
The storm has battered the central Bahamas as a Category 4 storm with torrential rains that flooded homes.
