Watch for construction workers and flaggers

A City of Vernon contractor will be conducting drilling investigation to collect soil information for a proposed utility and pavement structure upgrade. Watch for construction workers and flaggers April 10 and 11 in the following areas and please slow down:

April 10: 32 Avenue between 27 Street and 30 Street. 35 Street between 25 Avenue and 30 Avenue.
April 11: Pottery Road, between Highway 6 and 15 Street.

The City of Vernon will be reconstructing 43rd Avenue sanitary sewer from 18 Street to east 17 Street starting the week of April 8th.
Works to include upgrade of:

• sanitary main,
• sanitary services to property line, • asphalt road resurfacing

During this time there will be local traffic only with detours in effect for the duration of the project. Flagging people will also be onsite directing local traffic.
The City would also like to remind drivers to obey traffic control personnel and to slow down through the construction and detoured areas.

Single Lane Traffic on Aquarius Road March 18 to April 30

Construction is slated to begin March 18, 2013 for work to install sanitary sewer to twelve homes on Aquarius Road and it will last until April 30.

There will be single lane traffic with flag people on site. This is a side road mostly used by local residents who have been informed of the construction. There should be little to no interruption at the Aquarius and Tronson Road intersections aside from sweeping and clean up from trucking as part of this project.
