Warriors dominated by Vees at home

WEST KELOWNA - The Penticton Vees skated into Royal Lepage Place and left with two points in a pretty dominant performance over the West Kelowna Warriors, winning 4-0.

Penticton would get on the board early on in the first, as Lewis Zerter-Gossage would score from Demico Hannoun while falling in the crease area.

There were numerous scrums after the whistle in the game tonight as it was clear that the rivalry was alive as well after large gatherings at the net after each stoppage.

The Vees picked up their 2nd goal of the game at 6:40 of the middle frame, as Hannoun would get his first of two on the night with a well placed shot.

Turnovers were a big issue for the Warriors in the game, as Andy Desautels make some big saves to keep it a 2-0 game.

In the final minute, Matt Serratore streaked down the left wing, and as he got to the bottom of the circle, fired one on Desautels that somehow snuck through with 4.5 seconds remaining as the Vees headed to the dressing room up 3-0.

Scott Patton would take over in goal for the 3rd, as Desautels was seen walking around in his suit and not on the Warriors bench. He's day-to-day.

Hannoun's 2nd of the night was a power-play marker for the Vees, who went 1-6 on the man advantage. West Kelowna went 0-5.

Rylan Ferster wasn't pleased with the overall effort, saying that "we got out-worked tonight. Credit their team but our guys need to come more prepared to play."

The Warriors will head to Merritt on Friday night to take on the Centennials, before coming back to West Kelowna on Saturday to face off against the Vernon Vipers.
