WEST KELOWNA - The West Kelowna Warriors will host the Vernon Vipers tonight for the first time this season in a home-and-home seven game series.

Tonight's game is a re-match of last year's opening round BCHL playoff matchup between the Vipers and Warriors which Vernon was able to take in six games, according to a press release. The Vipers should be ready to take a bite out of their apponent after only one win out of the last nine games at Royal Le Page Place.

The West Kelowna Warriors are returning home after going 2-0 at the BCHL Showcase last weekend in Chilliwack with wins over Couqitlam and Nanaimo. After hosting the Vipers they'll hit the road again for two more games.

West Kelowna lost three of their last four home openers and have something to prove tonight. The Warriors finished tied for first place in the Interior Division last year with a second place finish after the Penticton Vees slid past with a higher tally of wins.

West Kelowna lost just eleven games on home ice last year and will play four of their first five regular season games away.

Tonight's game in West Kelowna starts at 7 p.m. at Royal Le Page Place. On Saturday, Sept. 27 the Vipers will host West Kelowna for game two. The puck drops at Kal Tire Place at 6 p.m.
