CIBC Run for the Cure Organizing Committee
Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation– The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is the largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, health education, and advocacy programs – and this wouldn’t be possible without you! The event takes place at the Rotary Bandshell at Riverside Park on Sunday Oct. 2, 2016. There are a variety of volunteer positions available, such as: Route marshals, food tent team, site assistants, lost & found, parking team, and set up and take down. Chamber Musicians of Kamloops - Seeking people to help with their upcoming performance on October 1, 2016. Volunteer positions include: Setup and take down indoors, serve refreshments, Clean up. They are also looking for someone to help create a promotional Video, who has video camera and software operation knowledge. Must be 16+ to volunteer without parent. Hearts for Homes Gala
Kamloops Elizabeth Fry Society – Volunteers are needed form the upcoming Hearts for Homes Gala on November 16, 2016. Positions include planning, poster distribution, set up and take down. Volunteers should have experience with design, marketing, and event planning. A criminal record check is required for all volunteers. For more information, call 250-374-2117 ext. 200.

Kamloops Alano Society
Light Janitorial Duties/Concession/Cook – Volunteers will assist with light janitorial duties, such as sweeping, wiping tables, and taking out garbage. Concession volunteers will sell pop, chips, handle cash, and replenish stock. Food safe would be an asset, but is not necessary. Minimum age to volunteer is 19+. Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club
Event Staff Volunteers - Many Different Positions - registration clerks, room attendants. Duties include: check in personnel, ticket scanning, handing out radios, flashlights, clothing, coordinating food and making coffee as needed. This is for all events, and not just for hockey. Volunteers should be physically fit, and able to walk up and down stairs. Need a good command of English, and good customer service skills. Volunteers must attend 30% of all events. Pine Grove Care Center
Recreation Volunteers – Pine Grove Care Center is looking for volunteers to assist with multiple programs including: reading companions, visiting one to one, playing games, helping with bingo, appointments with handy-dart, and the garden program. Volunteers should be friendly, respectful, dedicated, willing to learn, be able to fluently speak and write English, and enjoy working with seniors. Minimum age of volunteers should be 15+. Overlander Residential Care
Bingo Volunteer – Bingo volunteers will assist residents with playing bingo, assist the recreation staff with portering residents, and help with setting up materials. These volunteers should be reliable, enthusiastic, patient, know how to play bingo or willing to learn. Volunteers should be 14+.
Office Volunteer – Volunteers will assist with tabulating hours, photocopying, orientation preparation, distribute and take down posters on site, help with special events like Christmas for the residents, do mail outs, filing, and other basic office duties. Office volunteers should be reliable, responsible, have attention to detail, organizational skills and patience. Previous office or bookkeeping experience is preferred. Operation Red Nose
Volunteer Drivers, Navigators – Volunteers will be designated drivers by using the client’s vehicle to drive to their chosen destination. The navigator will drive with the designated driver, and give them directions using a map of the area. Escort drivers will drive the team to the client’s location using their own vehicle, and drive them back to headquarters after arriving at the client’s destination. Big Brothers Big Sisters
In-School Mentoring - The volunteers will be a positive role model and have a desire to make a difference in the life of a child. Volunteers will spend one hour a week with a child (Your Little Buddy) in their elementary school, playing games, making arts and crafts, and just being friends for the duration of the school year. 15+ to volunteer.
