KAMLOOPS - Volunteer Kamloops is seeking volunteers for the following local clubs and foundations:

Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak

Kamloops Ribfest Volunteers - On Thurs. Aug. 4 to Mon. Aug. 8 at Riverside Park, professional ribbers from Canada and the U.S. are coming to show off their cooking styles and their delicious rib recipes with entertainment and more. This is a major fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak, who reinvests this money back into our community through youth and seniors initiatives. Many Different Positions - Family Fun Zone, Corn Roast, and General Duties; 18+ to volunteer. Rib Runners, Refreshment Area; 19+ to volunteer. 250-828-3822

Kamloops Dragon Boat Club

Dragon Boat Festival Volunteers - The Kamloops Dragon Boat Festival is looking for volunteers to help out with this year's festival on Aug. 6! Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

CIBC Run for the Cure Organizing Committee – Interested in being part of team, raising much needed funds for breast cancer research? Join us on the Kamloops Run Committee and have fun putting your skills to work. It takes a community to put on an event from helping out on Run Day to project managing the committee. Positions: Co-Run Director, Fundraising; Co-Run Director, Logistics; Registration Coordinator; Route Coordinator; Volunteer Coordinator. 19+ to volunteer. Co-Run Directors will lead a committee of new and returning coordinators who meet monthly, and then bi-weekly in Sept. BC Wildlife Park

Wild Kidz Camp Volunteers - The BC Wildlife Federation is running a free outdoor kids camp called Wild Kidz from July 11th to July 15th in Barriere. We are looking for 1 or 2 volunteers with a vehicle to assist us with the camp. Our camp involves day trips to Wells Grey Park, Simpcw First Nation hatchery, and other exciting destinations and hands-on activities in the North Thompson Regional District. 17+ to volunteer. Therapeutic Riding Association

Kids Camp Volunteers- Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association are needing assistance for their 4 week summer kids' (5-13 yrs olds) camps that run Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am-3:30pm. Dates are: July 12-14, August 2-4, August 9-11 and August 16-18. We are needing volunteers who have horse experience along with those who are comfortable around horses to help out with lessons and stable management. There are also positions in the crafts center. Valleyview Overlanders Lion's Club

Club Members - The Valleyview Overlanders Lion's Club is looking for volunteers to help make a difference in the community. Through various fundraising initiatives, such as BBQs and raffles, the Lion's Club is able to assist and contribute to multiple community organizations. Scouts Canada - Kamloops Area

Section and Non-Section Scouters - The Kamloops Area Scouts are looking for volunteers to support their scouting programs. Positions are: Section Scouters - Working with a team of other Scouters to help youth (ages 5 – 26) down their Canadian path towards a world of adventure, outdoor experience, friendship, and fun. This position requires a 1 year commitment. Non-Section Scouters - (Positions not working directly with youth.) Interior Community Services

Outdoor Maintenance Volunteers - The volunteers will assist with minor outdoor maintenance of residential and program properties such as painting, weeding, and maintenance of fences, sheds, and yards. 18+ to volunteer. 250-554-3134.

YMCA

YMCA Youth Basketball League Team Coaches - The volunteers will coach kids aged 7-12 in weekly practices, and help to supervise Sunday games at different locations throughout the city. This is a non-competitive league that is meant to foster growth through sport. The coaches should be patient, understanding, and be a positive role model for all the participants. 16+ to volunteer. 250-376-4771.

People In Motion

Youth Club - Volunteers will be involved in supporting People in Motion in a variety of recreational activities such as going to the movies, Kamloops Blazers games, pizza nights, laser tag etc. 16+ to volunteer. 250-376-7878.

BC Wildlife Park

Family Farm Assistants - The BC Wildlife Park is in need of volunteers to assist our zookeepers in maintaining a safe environment at our Home Hardware Family Farm. The volunteers will be interacting with the park guests as they interact with our goats! The Volunteers will also be keeping the barn area clean. 16+ to volunteer and family volunteering friendly (Ages 11 - 13 can volunteer with a parent). The volunteers should be physically fit, able to work in the heat, and comfortable around livestock. For more information, call 250-573-3242 Ext: 226

YMCA/YWCA 

Grounds Maintenance - Volunteers will assist the staff with yard and lawn maintenance, weeding, mowing, pruning, and touch up painting, etc. The areas include 400 Battle street and the adjoining program houses and parking areas. Volunteers should be in good health, enjoy working outdoors. 16+ to volunteer. Call 250-372-7725

Interior Community Services

Childminding Volunteers – The volunteers will help watch children while their parents are in learning sessions Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings 10am – noon. The volunteers will assist the staff in the children’s area to watch the children, and be an extra set of eyes and ears. Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club

Event Staff Volunteers - Usher's, Door Personal, Ticket Takers. This is for all events, and not just for hockey. Volunteers should be able-bodied with a good command of English, out going, and people friendly. Volunteers must attend 25% of all events. Hours vary based on Events. 19+ to volunteer.
