Boogie The Bridge is looking for volunteers!: Boogie The Bridge is looking for volunteers! Thursday April 27th-Sunday April 30th. Volunteer at the race package table, team table, set up expo, park set up and takedown. For more information, contact volunteer@boogiethebridgee.com. Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign!!: Pin Distribution Volunteers - If you have a car and can make once a week stops during April into a few retail outlets near your work, school or home, a pin distribution volunteer could be a good position for you. These volunteers should have access to a vehicle, be mature, and have good communication skills.
Canvasser Volunteers – Volunteers will donate a few hours of their time to canvass their neighbourhood, workplace, friends and family or online in support of the Daffodil Month Campaign. These shifts are very flexible, as you pick the day and time of your shift.
Daffodil Pin Table Sales – If you like working indoors and talking to public is easy for you, the daffodil pin table sales volunteer position could be a good fit. Located at the Aberdeen Mall, volunteers will work 4 hour shifts on April 8th or 9th. Volunteers should be reliable, trustworthy and friendly.

Volunteer Kamloops Dinner Fundraiser!!: Volunteer Kamloops is undertaking fundraising to continue to fund its operations in the community. On April 23, 2017 the Board of Directors are hosting a dinner from 5:00-9:00pm at “On the Rocks Pub and Grill.” We have three delicious dinner options; steak, butter chicken or vegetarian. We would be truly pleased if your business would be able to give a monetary donation or provide a prize for our Silent Auction, 50/50, etc. at the event. Tickets are $15.00 each and are available at Volunteer Kamloops 705 Seymour Street, Tuesday to Friday 9:00 – 4:00. Fundraiser – Volunteers will visit places of business and request donations for the upcoming dinner fundraiser. They should be friendly, and not afraid to approach people. Volunteers should be 19+. Canadian Mental Health Fundraiser!!: Ride Don’t Hide – Ending the Stigma Around Mental Illness – Volunteers who have a good work ethic, integrity, and the ability to work independently or with others are wanted for the Ride Don’t Hide event, held on Sunday, June 25th. People from the community that see the value of speaking up around mental illness and help break the stigma while raising important dollars for community education programing at the CMHA Clubhouse are wanted. Each position requires something different. Please call 250-374-0440 ext. 101.

Special Olympics Kamloops Volunteer Positions!!: Program Coordinators: This position co-ordinates all aspects of sport programs offered by SOBC Kamloops. The Program Coordinator acts as the key liaison for all coaches and represents the voice of the coaches to the Local Committee. 
Special Events Coordinator: This position is responsible for organizing any special events as requested and approved by the local committee.
Equipment Coordinator: This position is responsible for the correct storage, distribution and maintenance of all sport equipment. The equipment coordinator will need to ensure equipment is available each week for the sport.
Bocce Helpers: 3-4 volunteers are needed on Wednesdays from 4-5pm on April 19th-June 21st at McArthur Island.
Golf Coaches: Coaches will work with beginner/intermediate golfers, and don’t require any credentials, just patience. Golfing will take place at Mt. Paul Golf Course on Tuesdays, from April 18th – June 27th.
Volunteers must be 18+, some positions require a car and class 5 driver’s license. For more information, please call 250-571-9820.

Current Volunteer Positions:

Phoenix Centre: Clipboard Conversation Canvasser – Canvassers will work in teams of 2 and collect information from community members by having one-on-one conversations. Canvassers will ask questions about people’s experience of their quality of life and record the answers. They will be trained and given required resources. Volunteers should be able to work as a team of two, able to strike up a conversation with someone they don’t know, be able to read, write, attend a one hour training session, and be 19 or older. Ridgeview: Bingo Volunteer – Volunteers are needed to assist with bingo during the following times: Thursday, Friday at 1:30pm, happy hour Wednesdays at 2:00pm, and for outings at 1:00pm Monday to Fridays. For more information, please contact Marion at 250-376-3131.

JUMP Kamloops: JUMP Kamloops is looking for volunteers to help with their 6 day a week programs. Seeking people with empathy and open minds to socialize with people living with poverty and homelessness. Volunteers that are interested and love cooking, gardening, and socialization, bookkeeping, social media, fundraising, marketing, website support are needed. There is also a volunteer position available for a bookkeeping assistant. The volunteer for this position should have knowledge of bookkeeping systems, be organized and flexible, and assist with all areas related to bookkeeping. Interior Community Services: Kitchen Program Volunteers – Interior Community Services is looking for volunteers to assist the program coordinator in different cooking programs. Volunteers should enjoy working with people, and have an interest in cooking. To require without a parent or guardian, volunteers must be 18+. Interior Community Services: Garden Site Leaders – Volunteer garden site leaders are needed from April – November. They will assist the program staff with the regular maintenance of the gardens, helping with activities such as weeding, organizing, trimming, and general garden activities. All ages are welcome to help, youth 12 and under can be accompanied by a parent. For more information, please contact 236-421-1011.
