Special Olympics - Kamloops

Special Olympics Winter Games Volunteers - The 2015 Special Olympics B.C. Winter Games are coming to Kamloops from Thurs. Feb. 19 to Sun. Feb. 22, 2015 and volunteers are needed to help stage a joyful, inspiring, and life-changing experience for all involved. Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

CIBC Run for the Cure Organizing Committee - Be part of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure organizing committee and a dynamic team raising funds towards breast cancer research in your local community from March to November 2015 (Event takes place on Sunday, Oct. 5). Oncore Central Services

Snow Angels Program - The volunteers will shovel the driveways and/or walkways of seniors with mobility or health issues in their neighborhood within 24 hours of each snowfall. Additionally, all volunteers will receive a free medium pepperoni pizza from Domino's Pizza every time they shovel a driveway. 17+ to volunteer. 250-828-0600.

B.C. Wildlife Park

50th Anniversary Gala Planning Committee - The B.C. Wildlife Park is celebrating their 50th Anniversary with a gala dinner event. We're looking for volunteers to join a planning committee to help plan our grand celebration for next year. 18+ to volunteer. 250-572-4653.

Elizabeth Fry Society

Resource Development Committee Member - The volunteers will work with the Executive Director and the Fund Developer to develop and implement the Society’s fund development plans. This will include assisting in the planning of the 3rd Annual Hearts for Homes Gala in November. All the members will need to attend the regularly scheduled meetings once a month. Habitat for Humanity Kamloops

Habitat for Humanity Kamloops Build Volunteers - We are looking for people to help us on the build site. Many different positions: first aid, cement/cement finishing, cribbing, drywall, boarding, electrical, fencing, flooring, framing, hvac, insulation/vapour barrier, interior trim, landscaping, painting, plumbing, roofing, siding/soffit/facia, surveying, taping/finishing. 16+ to volunteer, and family volunteering friendly. People In Motion

Volunteer Tax Preparer - People In Motion is participating in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinic (CVITP), and are looking for volunteers to complete simple tax returns for people with disabilities and low incomes. The volunteers will pick up the tax returns, and they can be completed either at their home or in our office, they will e-file the returns for the clients, and mileage is paid. 19+ to volunteer. 250-376-7878.

Overlander Residential Care

Teen Volunteer Program - Volunteers will work in the dining room helping residents with meals and snacks. They may also read to residents, assist with letter writing, participate in special programs, run errands, or help in the office. 14+ to volunteer. 250-554-5569.

Volunteer Kamloops

Administrative Assistant Volunteers - Do you want to enhance your skills, enjoy working with a diverse population, and want to give back to the community? Volunteer Kamloops has exactly what you're looking for! The volunteers will perform reception duties, answer phones, greet and direct clients, data entry, print/copy/fax, and more. The volunteers must be computer literate, and have good communication and English skills. 19+ to volunteer. Preference will be given to those that can commit 6 to 8 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months. 250-372-8313.

Interior Community Services

Volunteer Mover – Volunteers will assist in moving, and transporting items to/from our facilities within the Kamloops area. Volunteers must have their own truck, be able to physically lift heavy items, have a valid driver’s license, and a clear driver’s abstract. St. John's Ambulance

Branch Executive Committee Members - Kamloops Branch Executive Committee is responsible to the Provincial Council for promoting and coordinating the affairs of St. John's Ambulance in this community. This includes the volunteer services of the Brigade Division, the Therapy Dog Program and other programs. All members attend regularly scheduled meetings (approx. 10/year) to provide guidance and input; participate as a member of a committee as requested; other community engagement and representation of SJA. 18+ to volunteer. 250-372-3853.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Kamloops

Rogers Raising the Grade Mentor - As a mentor you will work with youth in an after school program focused on "interest based learning" through the use of technology. 19+ to volunteer. 250-554-5437

Interior Community Services

Childminding Volunteer – Volunteers will help watch children while their parents are in learning sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The volunteers assist the staff in children’s area to watch the children, and be an extra set of eyes and ears. Royal Inland Hospital

Laboratory Reception Volunteers - The volunteers will enhance the quality of laboratory visits for patients, families and visitors by providing direction, support and assistance in the reception and waiting area. We're looking for volunteers who are flexible, show good judgment, discretion, and able to work as part of a team with the public and staff. 18+ to volunteer. 250-314-2313.
