"IT WAS A GOOD SHOT AND IT DROPPED ME TO MY KNEES"

KELOWNA - A Youtube video of a Kelowna magician getting hit in the crotch by a child may be getting international exposure on the MTV show Ridiculousness.

Leif David has been performing magic since he was eight years old, but says he has never received a response like the one he got while performing at Blossom preschool a year ago. During a magic show last Halloween, David invited a five-year-old boy from the audience to help him with the act.

“In the routine, I use an oversize top hat that covered his eyes and he was just kind of flailing around,” David said. “It was a good shot and it dropped me to my knees.”

The footage was filmed and posted to Youtube by the young boy’s grandmother.

“I have no idea how they found the clip. Maybe they were just browsing the internet searching for ‘punched in the crotch,’” David joked.

Leif received the call from the American channel on Leif’s birthday, Oct. 28, and says he initially didn’t answer the call because he thought it was a telemarketer.

“I saw it was an American number so I just ignored it,” David said. “I called them right back though. Hopefully it makes it on the show.”
