KAMLOOPS - Yesterday gave Kamloops residents a little bit of everything one could expect from spring, with blue sky, low clouds and showers, and one Kamloops man captured it all in a cool timelapse video.

Frank Ritcey left his camera running Wednesday, March 23, pointing it from his Aberdeen home towards the northeast before he went to work. While the view seems static, at any single moment he captures a variety of interesting moments, including a brief rainbow over the North Shore, with clouds rolling over the landscape at high speeds, showers sweeping the valley and fog obscuring and then revealing the vista.

In the video you can see the complexity of the air currents well above Kamloops as clouds at different heights flow in different directions like they're in rivers, while lower down some seem to appear out of nowhere and disappear.

The video ends with the sun setting and long shadows growing across Mt. Peter and Mt. Paul before the last sunbeams colour the clouds and city lights switch on.

Ritcey says he just turned his camera on before going to work and left it on timelapse mode to see what it would capture, and then sped the footage up to cut it down to the final length of just a couple minutes.
