Vernon teen killed in traffic accident near Lytton

A fiery four-vehicle accident took the life of a Vernon teen February 21, 2014.

VERNON - A Vernon teen was killed when the vehicle he was in crashed with three others near Lytton February 21.

Dante Tiberius Darkazanli, 15, was a passenger in an SUV travelling on Highway 1 about 25 Kilometres east of Lytton at 11:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. Darazanli died at the scene. A tanker truck carrying hazardous cargo was also involved in the accident and caught fire. The Trans-Canada Highway was closed in both directions while firefighters battled the blaze.

Darazanli's family has been notified of his death. The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate.
