VERNON - Mounties at the Vernon RCMP detachment have received a heartfelt thank you note from one of the community’s younger citizens.

The letter came in the mail Feb. 15 from a student at Silver Star Elementary School in Vernon, according to the RCMP.

The note contains some original artwork depicting a police officer along with the following message:

“Dear cops,

Hi cops, thank you for protecting the world. The world wouldn’t be the same without you. The world would be in true terror.

   Signed, Luc”

The card, which surely made more than one Mountie's day, has been circulating on social media since the RCMP shared it on Facebook.
