VERNON - Police believe a truck set on fire over the weekend was stolen from a Vernon home.

The Vernon Fire Department was called out at 4:20 a.m. Sunday to fight the fire at Commonage and Bench Row Roads. The truck was fully engulfed in flames.

RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says there was more than one crime at play in the incident.

“It is suspected the vehicle had been stolen, driven to this location and then burned,” he says.

The truck was completely destroyed in the fire.

Police and the Fire Department continue to investigate the cause.
