Fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 97 in Peachland

A portion of Highway 97 near Peachland is closed while RCMP and collision analysts conduct investigations on the fatal vehicle collision.

PEACHLAND - A fatal vehicle collision prompted the closure of Highway 97 in Peachland yesterday afternoon.

Kelowna RCMP Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release that the male driver and female passenger of the motorcycle were rushed to the hospital. The female passenger has died.

The collision involved a black Harley motorcycle and a beige Honda Accord.

O’Donaghey says yesterday, Sept. 3 at 2:45 p.m., the Honda Accord was stopped behind another vehicle that was waiting to make a left hand turn off of Highway 97. The motorcycle then crashed into the rear of the Honda.
