Valleyview frontage water main break

KAMLOOPS – The City of Kamloops experienced a water main break last night around 4 p.m., reported on the Valleyview frontage road in the 1900 block. An 8 inch isolation valve was damaged causing a water interruption. The valve is 14 feet deep and is in a travel portion of the Valleyview frontage road.

Crews worked all night to replace the damaged valve, but are still working on resolving the issue this morning. Water service to commercial businesses on Oriole Road and the 1900 block of Valleyview frontage road are affected. Currently, the estimated time for return of service is unknown, but expected within the next eight hours.
