Recalls this week include windshield deicer, bicycles, USB cords, children's purses

More than 4 million bottles of windshield deicer and frost reducer are being recalled because the trigger assembly can be removed by children, posing a risk of poisoning. Other recalled consumer products include bicycles and baby carriers.

WINDSHIELD DEICER

DETAILS: Prestone Windshield De-Icer and Prestone Ice & Frost Shield. The Windshield De-Icer (SKU AS-246) is used to melt ice on vehicle windshields and windows. The Prestone Ice & Frost Shield (SKU AS-247) is used to reduce morning frost, light ice and snow on vehicle windshields, windows and wiper blades. The SKU number is printed on the bottom left of the back label. They were sold from September 2011 through August 2015.

WHY: The product contains methanol and ethylene glycol and children may gain access to the product by removing the trigger assembly, posing a risk of poisoning.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

USB CORDS AND WALL CHARGERS

DETAILS: USB Cord & Wall Chargers for iPhone 5/5S sold at Charlotte Russe stores nationwide during October 2014. The chargers have a geometric print in mint green and peach colours. Style numbers CRGT-003 or CRGT-004 are printed on the UPC sticker on the back side of the package. "Charlotte Russe" and "USB Cord & Wall Charger for iPhone 5/5S" are printed on the packaging.

WHY: The chargers can overheat and catch fire while in use, posing a fire hazard.

INCIDENTS: One report of the charger catching on fire. No injuries have been reported.

HOW MANY: About 3,200.

CHILDREN'S PURSES

DETAILS: Imagine Nation Books pink Giraffe Animal Purse with brown spots. The purse looks like a pink stuffed animal giraffe with brown spots and brown feet and a red zipper down the centre of the back. There is a sewn-in tag inside the zipper pouch that reads "MADE IN CHINA." A hang-tag attached to the purse has "JEWELRY is fun, LEAD COMPLIANT" on the front and "WARNING: Not for Children under 3 years old", "www.jewelryisfun.com" and item number "CHJF10032AST" on the back. No other colour combinations are included in this recall. They were sold at Imagine Nation Books dealers nationwide at book fairs held at corporate offices and hospitals from July 2014 through March 2015.

WHY: The red paint on the zipper contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

BABY CARRIERS

DETAILS: This recall involves the Tadpoles Baby and Kids brand Moses baskets and stands. The Moses basket is made from natural tan wild palm leaves and measures about 33 inches long by 14 inches tall and 10 inches wide. The stand has a pine wood frame, a fabric platform and polyester rope design. The stand measures 17 inches tall by 14 inches wide and 15 inches wide when extended. "Tadpoles" is printed on the clear plastic wrapping on the Moses baskets and stands. They were sold at Babies R Us and buybuy Baby and online at Amazon.com, Bellacor.com, Kohls.com, Quidsi.com, Wayfair.com and Zulily.com from April 2014 through July 2015 for the Moses basket and from June 2014 through July 2015 for the stand.

WHY: The Moses basket fails to meet the federal hand held infant carrier standard and the stand fails to meet the bassinet/cradle standard. The basket can slide off an inclined surface and the stand can tip, posing a fall hazard for infants.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

BICYCLES

DETAILS: All model year 2011 through 2015 Flash, FSi , F-4, F-5, F-29, Lexi, RZ, Scalpel and Trigger Cannondale mountain bicycles, with OPI stem/steering tube assemblies. "OPI" is printed diagonally across the stem/steering tube in black letters. They were sold at authorized Cannondale dealers nationwide from July 2010 to July 2015.

WHY: The OPI stem/steering tube assemblies can fail, posing a risk of injury from a fall.

INCIDENTS: None reported.

HOW MANY: About 23,000 in the U.S. and about 800 in Canada.

HOODED SWEATSHIRTS

DETAILS: James Trading Group's Croker Kids Ireland Sports Hoodie with model number IR6012 printed on a hang tag attached to the hoodie. The kids hoodie has green fabric on the upper chest and arms with a white diagonal stripe across the torso and a blue panel on the bottom half of the hoodie. "Ireland" is printed in white letters across the chest and there are three Shamrock logos embroidered onto a patch on the bottom left side of the hoodie. The hoodie was sold in kids sizes "2YR" through "12YR" printed on the hang tag and on the tag sewn into the neck of the garment. "Croker" is printed on the inside neck label on the garment. They were sold at Irish boutiques and other specialty retail stores nationwide and online at www.thejtg.com from November 2012 through August 2015.

WHY: The sweatshirts have a drawstring around the neck area which poses a strangulation hazard to children.

INCIDENTS: None reported.
