CHANHASSEN, Minn. - The Latest on the delay in opening Prince's Paisley Park studio complex for tours (all times local):

The Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen has granted a temporary permit allowing Paisley Park to open for public tours Thursday and two other days in October while officials work out concerns about public safety, traffic and other things.

The museum at the home and studio of the late rock superstar Prince was due to open Thursday before the city council postponed action on a rezoning request.

In a statement Tuesday, Paisley Park says it now has a temporary permit allowing tours Thursday, Saturday and Oct. 14. They'll try to accommodate guests holding tickets for other October dates on those three dates. Ticket holders will receive emails.

Paisley Park is also in discussions with the Mall of America on an exhibition of Prince artifacts and costumes, which will be open to ticket holders.

The Chanhassen City Council will vote on the request by the trust company overseeing Prince's estate "on or before" Dec. 20.

Officials in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen say it might be December before the city council votes on zoning changes needed to turn Paisley Park into a museum honouring the late rock superstar Prince.

The museum had been due to open Thursday.

The city issued a statement Tuesday after the council voted 3-2 Monday night to table a request by the trust company that's overseeing Prince's estate. City council members cited public safety, traffic and other concerns.

The statement says Chanhassen's mayor, city council and staff will continue working with Bremer Trust to address those concerns. It says the application, and any changes, will come before the council for another vote "on or before" Dec. 20.

Chanhassen also says museum officials knew the risks of selling tickets prior to approval.

This week's public opening of Prince's suburban Minneapolis estate and studio complex likely will be delayed because the city council indefinitely postponed voting on a rezoning request for the complex to be operated as a museum.

The Chanhassen City Council tabled the request 3-2 Monday night after more than three hours of debate. Traffic and safety issues were among the concerns cited.

Tours were due to begin Thursday. It's not clear what the council's delay means for people who've already purchased tickets. Paisley Park has not confirmed the opening will be delayed, but its website has suspended further sales.

Councilwoman Bethany Tjornhom said the community needs time to consider whether it wants to be a "tourist town" and host an anticipated 600,000 visitors a year.

Prince died in April of an accidental painkiller overdose at Paisley Park.
