More than 23,000 Cannondale mountain bicycles recalled due to fall risk

NEW YORK, N.Y. - More than 23,000 Cannondale mountain bicycles are being recalled because a steering tube can fail which can cause riders to fall off.

However, no incidents or injuries have been reported, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The recall is for model years 2011 through 2015 of the Flash, FSi , F-4, F-5, F-29, Lexi, RZ, Scalpel and Trigger Cannondale mountain bicycles. They were sold at Cannondale dealers between July 2010 and July 2015 for between $2,000 and $10,000.

About 23,000 were sold in the U.S., and 800 were sold in Canada.

Customers can return a recalled bicycle to a Cannondale dealer for a free repair. Customers can also call Cycling Sports Group at 800-245-3872 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for more information.
